Eric Lendrum and North Country Subaru Commitment to Community - Christian W
Eric Lendrum is a man who believes in the power of community. As the proud co-owner of NorthCountry Subaru, he has a reputation not only for his exceptional customer service but also for his deep commitment to giving back. His dealership, isnt just a place where people come to buy cars; its a reflection of the values Eric holds dearhonesty, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility to the world around him. Eric understands that his success isnt just about selling carsits about creating relationships, building trust, and finding ways to make a positive impact on the lives of those around him. His passion for helping others extends beyond the walls of his dealership, and he quickly becomes known as a pillar of support in his community. The Common Roots Foundation, is a local nonprofit that works to support various causes and initiatives in the region and founded with the mission to support local efforts that promote community wellness and environmental stewardship, and assist those in times of need. The Common Roots Foundation has become a hub for local volunteers, activists, and leaders to come together and make a real difference. They are especially known for their fundraising events, which include a disc golf tournament, a 5k running race, and support for a mountain bike race that attract participants from all over. For years, Eric has been one of the foundations most dedicated supporters. He doesnt just donate moneyhe donates his time, his energy, and his love for the community. Every year, without fail, Eric makes sure to contribute a generous amount to help cover event costs, purchase prizes, and ensure that every race and tournament goes off without a hitch. He often rolls up his sleeves and joins in on the action. On race day for the mountain bike events, Eric is there at the starting line, greeting racers and making sure they have everything they need for their ride. He engages with participants, cheers them on, and makes them feel like they are part of something bigger than just an event. His donations, whether monetary or of his time, are never about recognition. For Eric, the greatest reward comes from knowing that his contributions help make a real impact. The proceeds from the events fund scholarships, support local schools, and provide meals to families in need. Its not just about raising moneyits about uplifting the community, fostering a spirit of unity, and creating opportunities for everyone to thrive. As the co-owner of North Country Subaru, Eric remains the same humble man, whose legacy isnt just built on cars, but on the lives he touches and the difference he makes. For him, success is not measured in profit margins or sales figuresits measured in the smiles of children getting their first scholarships, in the athletes crossing the finish line, and in the knowledge that, together, they are all growing something far greater than they could have ever imagined.
Jackson Heights - Ryan E
Northcountry Subaru's incredible support has continued to grow our school's learning environment across every grade level. Their generosity has touched each student through investments in education. Our youngest learners now explore with learning toys and STEM activities that spark curiosity, while first-grade classrooms are equipped with essential materials like construction paper, flexible seating, and math manipulatives that help make learning engaging. Second-grade students benefit from expanded classroom library resources and innovative learning tools, and third-grade classrooms now feature flexible seating and learning manipulatives that support diverse educational needs. This support goes beyond physical materials it's about believing in our students' potential and strengthening the future of Glens Falls. Northcountry Subaru has shown that true community support means investing in our children's growth, creativity, and learning potential. Their commitment demonstrates how local businesses can make a profound difference in education, one classroom at a time.
Thunder 5k Run/Walk - Melissa D
The Glens Falls Civic Center Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) with the goal of providing funds for capital improvements to the Cool Insuring Arena. It was founded in June of 2003 by Paul Pontiff. Paul was a founding member of the Glens Falls Civic Center Foundation in 2003 because, like all of his charitable pursuits, he saw a need in the community and instinctively wanted to help. He had a vision to gather community leaders to devote their expertise and efforts to fundraising in support of capital projects at the Glens Falls Civic Center (now known as the Cool Insuring Arena). Paul was a tremendous and tireless leader who was able to garner the support of our community to help preserve and improve the arena, which he considered one of our communitys greatest assets. He was the founder and first President of the Foundation but, more importantly, he worked side by side with his fellow board members to ensure the Foundations success from 2003 until his passing. Paul loved hockey, Glens Falls, and the Warren County area and would do anything he could to see that the three joined forces and were successful. Today we continually raise funs to help support the arena and updates. A couple of the updates include safety netting behind hockey goals, safety handrail, seat replacement, improvements to Heritage Hall including bathrooms. We have also donated tickets to the Glens Falls Youth Center and Big Brother Big Sisters so everyone can come and enjoy a night out and some hockey. North Country Subaru has continually supported our yearly Thunder 5k Run/Walk and there generous sponsorship has made our event a successful. Personally I am highly involved in the community and North Country Subaru is always willing to help out and give there support not only financially but volunteer and participant in events.
North Country Subaru Partners With The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Daniela V
Every three minutes, a person in the U.S is diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma - blood cancers that often requires patients to endure difficult treatments that leave them feeling weak, cold, and isolated. Since 2016, Subaru has partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) to provide warmth, love, and relief by delivering over 230,000 blankets along with patient care kits and encouraging messages of hope. North Country Subaru delivered 80 blankets and 50 patient care kits to C.R. Wood Cancer Center of Glens Falls Hospital. World Ride Mountain Bike Movie Night - Hyla K
In April 2023, North Country Subaru sponsored a mountain bike movie night at a local theater to benefit World Ride, a non-profit dedicated to empowering women globally through mountain biking. Through these movie nights and other fundraisers, World Ride is able to train and employ female guides, build and maintain a bike "library" to provide bikes for social rides, and cover travel expenses for female athletes to attend races. On top of covering the expense of the theater, North Country also provided goody bags at the door for all attendees plus popcorn, drinks, desserts and a raffle prize. Around 80 people were in attendance and the event was a hit!
North Country Subaru and SUNY Adirondack-Partners on the Road to Community Success! - Rachael P
We're so appreciative of Tyler and Eric and the entire North Country Subaru team for their support of the SUNY Adirondack Foundation's Lyman A Beeman Golf Outing. This is SUNY Adirondack's Foundation's largest fundraiser each year - allowing the us to provide nearly $450,000 in scholarship support annually as well as continue the good work of SUNY Adirondack CARES, which provides emergency grants to students to alleviate unforeseen financial emergencies that threaten their ability to remain enrolled in coursework. Thank you North Country Subaru for being a part of the generous support our local business community provides and partnering with us on the road to success for our entire region.
Sweet Scarlett - Brooke M
Through our partnership with North County Subaru and their wonderful generosity to us year after year, the North Shore Animal League Adirondack Region saw a whopping 34 kittens and cats embark on their happy trails in October; getting adopted into loving families. We celebrated with each and every one, but the cat that we were particularly overjoyed for was Scarlett. Meet small, but mighty Scarlett, weighing in initially at 4.56 lbs. and desperately needing our help. She had been discarded on the side of the road in a carrier during the cold winter month of February 2023. We immediately intervened medically to warm her up and set her up for a pathway of recovery. Skittish at first, she had a loud meow and a precarious disposition. It took a few months of slow yet steady progression to figure out her diet and health concerns. Our staff worked with her to diagnose her medical issues while volunteer socializers exposed her to positive interactions with people. She blossomed into a friendly girl on her terms who loves to be pet and curl up on a warm lap. She developed a new appreciation for life, which so warmed our hearts to see! We could tell she wanted a quiet house, a loving home and an adopter all her own. Months later, still on the small side, at 5.82 lbs. she did her best to show off to potential adopters, greeting those lucky enough with rubs and head bumps. On October 16th, 2023, Scarlett found herself being looked at by a nice lady in need of companionship. She saw Scarlett and instantly fell in love. The rest is history. Currently she is dozing on her new owner's lap and enjoying the rest of her days lazing around the windows looking at the birds. She sits regularly in her cat tree, always talking to her new owner and ruling her roost. It took Scarlett a little bit longer to be adopted than others, but she has found her forever home and we could not be happier for her!
North Country Subaru donations outfit 15 classrooms at Jackson Heights! - Carrie M
The Jackson Heights school community was overwhelmed once again by the generosity of the North Country Subaru Learning Love event! 15 teachers were awarded $500 each to purchase classroom items from reading cards, to organization bins, to white boards and more. students in a classroom holding up books Mrs. Shpurs class enjoying their new books The generous donation from North Country Subaru helped purchase non-fiction books that are age appropriate for my young students, said Kindergarten teacher Christy Sphur. We were also able to get craft supplies and other learning tools that have enhanced math and ELA instruction. Awarding the funding to individual teachers allowed each classroom to load up on materials that meet unique needs for each grade level. For example, third grade teacher Liz Gross was able to put her donation towards multiplication and division tiles to help students practice their math more effectively. students building with lego robotics sets provided with funding from Subaru. The tiles are stackable and the kids love calling out the answers, said Mrs. Gross. Another item I was able to order was hands-on literacy centers. These centers are great because the kids are practicing various literacy skills and having fun while doing them. UPK teacher Sue Williams said her funding from North Country Subaru went towards letter building kits, climbing steps, and a new magnetic board for her students to use. She echoed the sentiment all Jackson Heights Elementary teachers were feeling. A HUGE thank you for their continued support towards our childrens education!
Brooks BBQ Fundraiser - Karen W
North Country Subaru sponsored and hosted Brooks BBQ Fundraiser to support access to counseling for those unable to afford services.
Common Ethos - Bert W
At Common Roots Brewing Company, one of our core beliefs is that we are better when we all work together and support one another. Especially critical to our business has been the ability to seek community business partners that share in a common ethos to help each other in times of need. Our good friends at North Country Subaru have been that reliable partner that we can always lean on for support and inspiration. After our business suffered a devastating fire in 2019, we learned first-hand how important and humbling it is to have the support of ones community. In the months that followed that fire, we established the Common Roots Foundation as the not-for-profit arm of our brewery. We modeled it after our businesses founding principles of promoting an active lifestyle, supporting environmental stewardship, creating a more just and inclusive community, and helping others in crisis. Since the fire and in our mission to pay it forward, we have now donated well over $100K in grants to support other organizations and individuals that align with our vision to help lift our community to a better place. None of this would have been possible without the support of our members and key business partners like North Country Subaru. They have been alongside us in almost every fund raiser and event that weve hosted or participated in, and we look forward to many more future collaborations. While the brand Subaru is synonymous with quality and reliability, all of us at Common Roots Brewing Company and the Foundation have learned first-hand that Subaru is more than just a car company. We are extremely proud of our partnership with North Country Subaru and look forward to future collaborations that support our mutual goals to show more love and respect in our community and beyond. And here is a photo of our companys sales car! Cheers, Bert Weber Common Roots Brewing Company Common Roots Foundation

Rocco's Journey - Shannon B
Through our partnership with North County Subaru and their wonderful generosity to us year after year, the North Shore Animal League Adirondack Region saw a whopping 38 kittens and cats embark on their happy trails for the month of October; getting adopted into loving homes. This exceeded our adoption goal for the month! We celebrated with each and every one, but the cat that we were particularly overjoyed for was Rocco. At eight years old, Rocco had arrived to us in early August 2022 as a former neighborhood stray. You could tell based on his appearance alone that life hadn't been kind to him. He bore the physical scars of his struggle to survive, had several broken teeth that were later extracted, was diagnosed with a lower urinary tract disease that required him to be switched to a special diet, and perhaps worse of all was harboring a crushed spirit. He was so shut down, he would try his utmost best to shrink himself down and disappear. While we were able to immediately intervene medically to help with his physical ailments and set him on the path toward recovery, his emotional wounds took a lot of time and patience. Our staff and volunteer socializers alike worked with him as much as possible, exposing him to positive interactions with people. After a couple months of slow yet steady progression, he eventually did blossom into a friendly boy who had the deepest purr whenever he was pet. He developed a new appreciation for life, which so warmed our hearts to see! On October 7th, Rocco's journey of healing was completed with his adoption. Now going by the name of Skipper with his new family, he has truly left the trauma of his past far behind him for a bright future. He has made himself quite comfortable in his new home, already bonding with his owner. We were told by his owner's daughter: "he's the best thing that has happened to my mother in a long, long time."

Camp Under the Woods - Summer Camp for Children on the Autism Spectrum - Robert U
Camp Under the Woods was started over 10 years ago and has been the recipient of funding from the Subaru Share the Love Event many of those years. Under the Woods Foundation's mission is to support experiences that are unique, creative and adventurous for children that are differently abled including, but not limited to autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities, and their families. The foundations goal is to support community development and awareness of children and their families who are impacted by autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities by providing grants and funding for children to attend camps/activities around the region to enrich their lives. Over the years, the Subaru Share the Love Event and North Country Subaru in Queensbury, NY has allowed us to expand the camp and service over 900 kids in a true summer camp experience. Campers have been able to experience all the great opportunities that our area has to offer. We have taken our campers, White Water Rafting, Canoe and Kayaking, Zip lining, Ropes Courses, Hiking, Mountain biking, as well as all the other activities associated with summer camp. Without the support of Subaru and our Local dealer, North Country Subaru, this would never have been possible. Many of these children would never have the chance to experience a true summer camp. The Subaru Share the Love program has enabled us to expand the offerings we have at camp while keeping the costs to parents and families very low. Nearly half of our campers each year pay no fee to attend the camp. All our workers are volunteers and 100% of our funding comes from donations and fundraising. The Lendrum family, Owners of North Country Subaru, have gone above and beyond to help us run our camp. They are great supporters of our local Mountain Bike race which is a major fundraiser for our camp and foundation. North Country Subaru supports so many events in our area and you could not think of a better representative that epitomizes the fundamentals of the Subaru Share the Love Event. Thank you Subaru and North Country Subaru for allowing us to Share the Love in our community!!
Playground toys for BKW Elementary School - Annette L
Berne-Knox-Westerlo Elementary is a small, rural school located in the southern part of Albany, NY. Last spring we were fortunate enough to be able to replace our 35 year old playground using grant money provided to schools during the pandemic. During this process the primary teachers shared that many of the playground toys were worn out or broken and requested permission to ask for donations from community members. North County Subaru heard about the request and sent a huge donation of toys to our school including Tonka trucks, bulldozers, jeeps, basketballs, sidewalk chalk and hula hoops. We are so thankful to Eric Lendrum and his team at North Country for their generosity. Sincerely, Annette Landry Principal
