Subaru's newest model is the Solterra SUV, and it stands out because it runs entirely on electric power. It's Subaru's first all-electric vehicle with many impressive features.
At North Country Subaru, we carry three trims of the new Solterra. The Premium, Limited, and Touring trims showcase great capability thanks to their two electric motors. These motors work together to create 215 horsepower and 249 pound-feet of torque, and since they send power to all four wheels, the Solterra can handle tough conditions.
The company has equipped the Solterra with a 72.8-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery. When fully charged, the Premium has a range of 228 miles, and the other two trims can travel up to 222 miles. This kind of range gives you so much freedom. You won't have to stick close to home; you can venture near Queensbury, NY, and explore new places.
To charge the battery, take advantage of various power sources. A Level Two charging system will take about 11 hours to get a full charge. It can be convenient to charge your battery overnight or when you're not using it for an extended period of time. When you're ready to head out again, your Solterra will be prepared to work hard for you.
You can decrease your charging time considerably Using a Direct Current Fast Charging (DCFC) station. Super-fast DCFC stations can charge up to 80 percent of your battery in about an hour. This time is ideal when you're on a road trip and need to stop to stretch your legs, enjoy some fresh air, and get something to eat or drink.
